will ferrell wife

The last few moments of Conan O'Brien's final night hosting 'The Tonight Show' were nothing but love -- free love, that is.

Dressed up in hippie garb, comedian Will Ferrell and his wife, Swedish actress Viveca Paulin, joined O'Brien on stage to perform Lynyrd Skynyrd's 1973 hit "Free Bird" as the credits rolled.

Ferrell donned a long blonde wig, bell bottoms and a black cowboy hat while his wife - whom he jokingly referred to as "Dawn" - wore a floral head scarf and mumu that barely contained her pregnant belly (the couple are expecting their third child this month).

As her husband sang, Paulin swayed to the music and occasionally made out with her man in a nod to Woodstock and various other musical gigs of the 60s, which brimmed with drug-induced affection.

Though the actor's voice was a little flat, he was buoyed by the likes of Beck Hansen and ZZ Top, who played behind him, not to mention O'Brien, an amateur guitar player.

As Ferrell hammed it up on vocals, O'Brien had a hard time keeping up his strum.

The show's musical theme was set earlier in the show when Neil Young performed his 1976 song "Long May You Run."

This was O'Brien's final 'Tonight Show' after he confirmed Thursday that he and NBC had reached an agreement for his departure.

He had only hosted the show for seven months, but the network felt hard hit by his poor ratings.

O'Brien is reportedly getting tens of millions to walk away from the position that will be turned over to Jay Leno.

All we have to say to Big Red is: "Bye, bye, baby it's been a sweet love."
